Question

In the case of mars , the sky appears due to red colour of dust particles or due to their large size?

Open in App
Solution

ā€“ Atmosphere of mars contains suspended particles (including brown iron oxide). When sun-rays enter into the atmosphere, dust particles absorb almost all blue light and remaining light of other wavelengths (including red, orange, yellow) scatter. Due to this reason, sky appears yellowish-brown in colour.
