in the recombination of spectrum of white light why an inverted prism is used to recombine the spectrum?

An inverted prism is used to converge all the diverges rays which are diverged by the first prism. the rays are diverges because of different wavelength and when they incident on the first prism recombine these rays. therefore inverted prism is used.
