In Mexico since 1930 and till 2000 only PRI(Institutional Revolutionary Party) won the elections. The party used dirty tricks to win the elections. These were :-

• Government officials had to attend party meetings.
• Teachers forced the parents to vote the party
• Media hardly covered the activities of the opposition. The opposition activities were highly criticized.

Though elections were being conducted in Mexico which is a major part of democracy but they were not fair. People did seem to have choice but in reality they didn't. There was no way in which the ruling party could be defeated.
