India will get atleast 7 point if it gets 2 points each in exactly three of the four matches and one point in exactly one match or if it gets 2 point in each of the four matches.
∴ Required probability
= 4C3 (0.5)3 (0.05) + 4C4 (0.5)4 [Binomial distribution]
= 4 × (0. 5)3 × 0.05 + (0. 5)4
= 0.025 + 0.0625
= 0.0875
Thus, the probability of India getting atleast 7 points in the series is 0.0875.
India will get atleast 7 point if it gets 2 points each in exactly three of the four matches and one point in exactly one match or if it gets 2 point in each of the four matches.
∴ Required probability
= 4C3 (0.5)3 (0.05) + 4C4 (0.5)4 [Binomial distribution]
