Question

inside a mother's womb how does the immune system of a foetus develop?

Open in App
Solution

At 33 weeks of pregnancy the foetus inside the womb develops her own immune system along with the antibodies from mother’s body. Now the foetus will be capable of providing some protections against light infections. Before that they were totally dependent upon mother’s immune system for their protection. The walls of placenta prevent almost all the harmful elements to enter inside.
