Is AIDS an infectious or infectious? Why?

AIDS is indeed an infectious disease. But, unlike other infectious diseases such as jaundice, flu, chicken pox, it is not transmitted from an infected person to healthy person through physical contacts. It is transmitted through sexual contacts and transfusion of body fluids such as blood, semen, etc. It is thus, categorise in a special category which is called sexually transmitted disease.
