Question

is ATP is required for the movement of polar molecules by carrier protiens in plasma membrane??

Open in App
Solution

Most of the carrier proteins just involve a change in shape and structure and transport molecules across the membrane , not requiring any ATP. But in some cases these channels have to accumulate ions against a concentration gradient which may require some use of ATP.
