↵Gonadotropins are the hormones secreted by anterior pituitary gland. The primary target organs of gonadotropins are testes and ovaries. This includes LH (luteinizing hormone) and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone).
It is a hormone secreted by the hypothalamus of the brain, delta cells of islets of Langerhans in the pancreas and argentaffin cells of the digestive tract. It inhibits the secretion of growth hormone (somatotropin) from the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. It also suppresses the release of other hormones from the pancreas and digestive tract.
