Question

Is it possible to have a positively charged body at zero potential, negative potential and positive potential? Explain.

Solution

Electrostatic potential at a point is the amount of work done per unit positive test charge by an external agent in moving it (without acceleration) from infinity to the given point against the electrostatic field along any path.

Now, the work done can be positive, zero or negative based on the presence or direction of the electrostatic field in the path taken from infinity to that point. eg. If there is no electric field present in the way, the potential will be zero.
