Question

Is there any explanation in physics that why our eyes are more sensitive to blue than violet?

Solution

Our eyes are sensitive to light which lies in a very small region of the electromagnetic spectrum labeled "visible light". This "visible light" corresponds to a wavelength range of 400 - 700 nanometers (nm) and a color range of violet through red.Our eyes are more sensitive to the middle region of the visible electromagnetic spectrum and blue color is more closer to it than violet or indigo. This is also why we perceive the sky to be blue as our eyes are more receptive to such frequencies.
