Question

isNa always positively charged

Open in App
Solution

Sodium in elemental state remain neutral i.e. in zero oxidation state and else where it always exhibit +1 oxidation state and hence always shows positive charge.

However while writing a chemical compound like NaOH, NaCl, the charge on sodium is neutralized by the hydroxide ions or chloride ions and therefore compound seems to be neutral but still sodium exhibit +1 charge which is generally not shown in compounds.
