Isnt rusting of iron a reversilble change we can just clean it but in this chapter it is considered irreversible why?

Rusting of iron is irreversible because the metal (iron) which has rusted cannot be got back.On rubbing, we can just remove the layer of rust on the iron object but the lost metal cannot be regained.
