Question

It is impossible for Transverse waves to propagate influids, then why waves in water propagate Longitudnally as well as Transversely?

Solution

Yes, water waves possess both longitude and transverse nature. This is because the water molecules making up the wave travel both parallel and perpendicular to the direction of propagation of the wave itself. So, there is both sideways and up and down motion combined.
