Some sequences of RNA can have catalytic functions in biochemical reactions. These are called as ribozymes. There are various types of riboaymes based on the RNA contained. some important reactions catalyzed are Linking amino acids in ribosomes during protein synthesis, RNA processing reactions like RNA splicing, viral replication and t - RNA synthesis.
