Solution

This is because south west monsoon winds blows in India in two branches namely the Arabian Sea branch and Bay of Bengal branch. The proceeding states receive rainfall from the bay of Bengal branch. The merging of the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal branches of the monsoon cause rainfall in the northwestern part of the Ganga plains.
