It is said that antibiotics are not effective against the diseases caused by viruses so is it useful to take medicine during common cold as it is also caused by viruses

What is the causal organism of Jaundice and typhoid.

Antibiotics in their action are selective only on the bacterial cells and do not effect the host cells whereas viruses being integrated with the host cell cannot be the targets as it will affect the target cell. Therefore, one should not take antibiotics during common cold.

Jaundice is an infectious disease of liver caused by virus. It spread through consuming food and water contaminated with hepatitis virus. It results in headache, joint pains and dark yellow urine.

Typhoid

It is caused by Salmonella typhi.

Its symptoms are fever, headache, cough, reduced heart rate.
