Internal fertilization takes place in hen. When a rooster mates with a hen, it deposits spermatozoa in the oviduct. These sperm,containing male sperm cells, travel the length of the oviduct and are stored in the infundibulum. The hen will continue to lay eggs even if she is not fertilized by the rooster.
