it is said that proton is formed by the removal of electron from hydrogen.But on the removal of electron, there will be no charge left.In that case a neutron should be formed.Why isn't it so?

The proton is a positively charged particle present along with the neutrons in the nucleus of an atom. As an atom is electrically neutral, therefore it has equal number of protons and electrons. Also, in a hydrogen atom, there is only one proton and one electron. It does not contain a neutron. Hence, a positively charged hydrogen ion (H+) formed by the removal of one electron is sometimes called proton.

Thus, on the removal of an electron from a hydrogen atom, it loses the negative charge and is left with only positive charge. Thus it is not neutral but positively charged.
