The general form of quadratic equation is ax2 + bx + c = 0, where a ≠ 0. But b and c may or may not equal to zero. Comparing x2 + 6 = 0 with ax2 + bx + c = 0, it is obtained a = 6 which is not zero, b = 0 and c = 6. Thus, the equation x2 + 6 = 0 is a quadratic equation.
