Question

like we take two components of kinetic energy i.e. translational and rotational . do we need to take two components of work done

Solution

when body is in linear motion we define translational kinetic energy, we can calculate work done in translational motion.

But when body is in rotational motion we define rotational kinetic energy and we calculate work done in rotational motion.
