The water is mostly reabsorbed in the descending loop of nephron of kidney. however variable amount of water is reabsorbed in collecting tubes that largely depends on the need of body to conserve water or to eliminate excess of water. Following are some factors on which the amount of water to be reabsorbed depend.
  • Intake water water
  • Amount of water that is lost either by perspiration or due to disease such as diarrhoea
  • Amount of anti diuretic hormone that is released from pituitary gland
