Italian variety of bee – Apis mellifera

If the apiary is to be run in India, it is better to choose Indian variety as these bees are accustomed with the climatic condition and habitat of this country. Italian bees need cold regions to grow. Indian bees are more resistant to the diseases common in this particular place. Moreover the rate of consumption is much higher in case of Italian bees that increase the rearing cost.
