Mention the role of hairs and mucus in the nasal passage of human beings. Why does the air passage does not collapse?

Solution
The hairs present in nasal passage trap the dust particles present in the inhaled air thus allowing only the filtered air to enter into the body. Mucus moistens the air and traps dust particles and kills the bacteria. Air passage does not collapse due to the presence of cartilaginous ring in pharynx and trachea.
