Merits of synthetic fibres:
Synthetic fibres are highly elastic. They retain their shape after washing. Synthetic fibres are cheaper than natural fibres. Hence, clothes made from synthetic fibres are usually cheaper.
Demerits of synthetic fibres:
Synthetic fibres do not absorb sweat, thus heat gets trapped inside the body giving us uncomfortable feeling specially in summer.
​Merits of plastic:
Plastic materials are light in weight. It is corrosion resistant and unbreakable. It is very cheap to make.
Demerits of plastic:
Plastic pollutes the environment. When plastic is burnt, toxic fumes are produced. Plastic is non-biodegradable. It cannot be degraded by the microorganisms present in the soil. Thus plastic accumulates in the environment.
