It is most important to maintain the pH level of blood as even a slight imbalance of blood pH is difficult to tolerated by the body. Most of the essential body processes like respiration, circulation, excretion etc require a stable level of pH to take place. Many other chemical reactions that go on inside our body are also highly dependent upon the pH level. Thus maintaining pH of the body is most essential. Blood carries a lot of substances to the cell which may lose their properties in changing pH levels.
