Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh , Uttranchal, Kerela, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Maharashtra have large percentages of reserved forests of its total forest cover.
Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Orissa and Rajasthan have a bulk of it under protected forests
