Solution

The two different views about liberty and equality for women in the 19th century were:

a. One view was represented by the Liberal politician Carl Welcker who believed in natural differences that existed between men and women and believed that the ideas of political rights must not be extended to women. The role of women, he argued has been defined by nature in terms of looking after the private sphere. Traditional social differences ought to be preserved to maintain harmony in the family and society at large.

b. Another view was represented by Political activist Louise otto-Peters who later formed a Feminist political association, and argued for political and social equality for women and extending political rights to women in order to establish a society based on the principles of liberty, equality and justice.
