Question

No work is done to move a charge from one point to another point on the equi-potential surface.Explain.

Solution

The surface at every point of which the electric potential is same is known as equipotential surface. Since the potential at each point is equal, thus the potential difference (V)between two points is zero which means that the work done in moving the test charge (W=V/Q) from one point to other point on the equipotential surface is zero.
