A. Rice producing states are Assam, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Haryana. Wheat producing states are Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

B. Sugarcane: Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra; Tea: Assam, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu; Coffee: Karnataka; Rubber: Kerala; Cotton: Maharashtra; Jute: West Bengal.

C. Major soil types are Alluvial soil in Punjab, Gangetic belt and Brahmaputra valley, Black soil in Maharashtra; Red soil in central India and Deccan plateau; Mountainous soil in the Himalayan region; Arid soil in the Thar Desert in Rajasthan.
