Question

on what basis do we differentiate between "mycelium" as septate or aseptate, coenocytic or branched ?

Solution

If the mycelium of fungi is divided by septa or septum it is called septate and undivided mycelium is known as aseptate.

Coenocytic mycelium is the bunch of hyphae with more than one nucleus and continuous cytoplasm. They are without any branches and found in Mucor. Branched mycelium is a cluster of hyphae branched and divided by septa. Aspergillus bears branched mycelium.
