Question

Out of Ether and Carbon Tetrachloride, which is more volatile?

Open in App
Solution

Ether is more volatile than CCl4.
Both are non-polar compound. But the molar mass of diethyl ether is quite less than CCl4 hence very weak Van Der Waal force of attraction in between the molecule and lower boiling point in turn more volatility.
