1) In mountainous areas, there is change in natural vegetation pattern and it resembles the succession from Tropical to Tundra region type of vegetation pattern
2) The Wet Temperate type of forests are found between a height of 1000 and 2000 metres. Evergreen broadleaf of trees such as oaks and chestnuts predominate.
3) Between 1500 and 3000 m, Temperate forests containing coniferous trees like pine, deodar, silver fir, spruce, cedar are found
4) At even high altitudes, generally above 3600 m above sea – level, Alpine type of vegetation like Silver fir, Junipers, pines, birches are found
