Question

How does oxygen move from the lungs to the circulatory system

Open in App
Solution

Oxygen enters from lungs to the blood circulatory system by the process of diffusion. It occurs at the alveolar surface of lungs where oxygen present in the alveoli diffuses into the blood vessels present in close touch with the membrane of alveoli. This oxygen rich blood then enters heart where from it is distributed to all parts of the body.
