1.y do vocal cords vibrate?

2. the pitch of female voice is higher that male voice. explain?

1. Vocal chord vibrate in order to produce sounds.
2. A male voice is of lower pitch than the female voice because of the dominant frequency present in the Female voice. Higher the frequency, higher will be the pitch and vice-versa. The vocal cord of females is shorter than that of male.The vocal cords in male grow 60% longer and become thicker and when they vibrate, they do so at a lower frequency.
