(a) If the forces are acting in the same direction,
Then the resultant force will be=12+8=20 N
The direction of resultant force is same as that of individual forces.
(ii) If the forces are acting in the opposite direction,
then the resultant force will be=12-8=4 N
The direction of the resultant force is same as that of larger force 12 N.
