What happens when a base is put on turmeric paste? What will happen when neutal sunstance is added to the same?

Turmeric is a natural indicator. It contains a yellow dye which is turned red in basic solutions. So when base is applied to it, turmeric yellow turns red in colour. But it remains yellow when acidic solution and neutral solution is added.
