Write the balanced equations with explanation for the following chemical reactions.

1. Barium chloride + Sodium sulphate → Barium sulphate + Sodium chloride.

2. Sodium + Water → Sodium hydroxide + Hydrogen

1. Barium chloride + Sodium sulphate → Barium sulphate + Sodium chloride.
BaCl2 + Na2SO4 BaSO4 + 2NaCl
It is a double displacement reaction where barium and sodium ions are exchanged.

2. Sodium + Water → Sodium hydroxide + Hydrogen
2Na + 2H2O 2NaOH + H2
Alkali metals such as sodium react with water to form metal hydroxide and liberate hydrogen gas.
