how are wavelenght and frequency of sound related tho the loudness of the sound?

Open in App
Solution

Loudness: (Amplitude or Intensity) is measured by the strength of the sound, while the distance between the sound compressions and rarefactions is known as wavelength.

Low frequency sounds have a long wavelength and are perceived as low-pitched sounds and vica-versa.

Now, if the sound waves have a small amplitude, then the sound will be faint/less loud.On the other hand if the sound waves have a large amplitude, then the sound will be loud.

but there is no as such necessary dependence between loudness & frequency or wavelength.
