Solution
Oxidation and reduction reaction is also known as Redox reactions.
It involves the transfer of electrons. During oxidation a substance loses its electrons whereas during reduction a substance gains electrons.
During photosynthesis, the chlorophyll convert the CO2 into sugars in the presence of sunlight by a set of Redox reactions.
½ Oxidation + ½ Reduction = Rodox reaction. Collectively, oxidation and reduction are known as redox, or an electron transfer reaction. After balancing the two half-equations one can determine the total net reaction.
