polar covalent compound conduct electricity.{explain}
This is because of the fact that in the aqueous solution polar covalent compounds exists in the form of their ions and hence presence of the free ions generates electricity.
Explain the following: (a) Covalent compounds are generally gases or liquids or soft solids. (b) Covalent compounds have low melting point and boiling point. (c) Non-polar covalent compounds are insoluble in water. (d) Polar covalent compounds are good conductors of electricity.
Please help me understand how to identify a polar covalent compound and a non-polar covalent compound.
