Population distribution is uneven in the world explain with an example?

Open in App
Solution

The population distribution is dependent on many factors like climate, topography and development etc.
Climate:
Areas which have moderate or habitable climate have high population density (e.g. Equatorial, tropical and sub-tropical belt) whereas areas of extreme climate have very sparse or no population (e.g. Polar belt, Siberian region etc.)
Topography:
The plain , fertile and mineral rich areas constitute high population density like Gangetic plain and Chotanagpur plateau in India, oil rich Arab countries and areas along Nile river etc. whereas areas like desert, mountainous and snow capped regions lack in high population distribution.
Development
Development can lead to either high population or stable or moderate population. The developed cities have high population due to better job opportunities and other facilities. For e.g. Metropolitan cities of India, America and Japan etc. but if we take a case of developed and developing countries, developed countries have moderate or stable population than developing countries because of better education, quality of life, job opportunities and awareness.
