This ensures that people are involved in decision making. Moreover due to the three tier set up of the Indian government, people from the grass root level also have a say in law making. The Judiciary too functions as a check on the arbitrary activities of the legislature.
• In a Democratic nation, citizens are the real sovereign. The Government derives its authority from its citizen. The right of Adult Franchise has given the right to all adults to vote and thus express their view about the most apt leadership.
