P, Q and R started a certain business and made a profit of Rs. 6800. The ratio of profit of P and Q is 1 : 3 while that of Q and R is 2 : 3. Calculate the profit earned by P.
Rs. 800
Profit made by P : Profit made by Q = 1 : 3 = 2 : 6
Profit made by Q : Profit made by R = 2 : 3 = 6 : 9
∴ Profit made by P : Profit made by Q : Profit made by R = 2 : 6 : 9
Hence, P's profit = 6800 × 217 = Rs. 800
