Q1. Give reasons:-

(a)Nucleus of an atom is heavy and positevely charged.

(b)An atom is electrically neutral.

a)An atom contains same number of protons (positively charged) and electrons (negatively charged).The neutrons have no charge.Therefore, an atom is electrically neutral.

b) Nucleus of an atom contain sprotons and neutrons, which are bulkier than electrons.Also, proton has +ve while neutron has no charge. so, overall charge is +ve.
