1. False. eg. When you are driving a bicycle and you apply the brakes. There is a stopping force applied in the direction opposite to the direction of motion of the bicycle. But, the bicycle still moves forward, doesn't it? So, the bicycle moves opposite to the direction of the applied force.

2. False. The net resultant force of all the forces determines the acceleration of the body. eg. When you push a wall, you apply force on it. Does it move? No!
