Solution
Diffusion of gases between plants and environment takes place through special structure present on plant leaves, called stomata.
The number and size of stomata on leaves obviously affect the amount of gases that are diffused to the environment.
Another important factor is light intensity since the opening and closing of stomata depends on the intensity of light which inturn affects the rate of diffusion of gases. At low intensity of light stomata tend to remain closed.
