a)Unlike salt and cobalt, iodine crystals upon heating sublimes.So,we can heat the mixture and sublime iodine and
condense iodine vapours using a sublimation apparatus.Now,since cobalt has magnetic properties therefore
we can use magnet bar to separate salt and cobalt.
b)Potassium chloride and ammonium chloride can be separated by fractional distillation as the two
compounds have different boiling points and after that iron filling can be separated by magnetic bar
as it is having magnetic property.
