Question

r chlorine , bromine and iodine r triads?

Open in App
Solution

Atomic mass of Chlorine = 35.5

Atomic mass of Bromine = 80

Atomic mass of Iodine = 127

They will considered a triad if, the average of the atomic mass of Chlorine and Iodine is equal to the atomic mass of Bromine.

Average of Atomic mass = (35.5+126.9)/2 = 81.2, which is close to the atomic mass of Bromine. Therefore, they can be called a triad.
