Question

rain is coming from clouds then why clouds are not falling down

Open in App
Solution

Clouds are made of tiny water droplets. It contains more moisture than the surrounding air. Since moist air is less dense than the dry air, it floats above the drier air, just like bubbles float on water.
Water droplets by which clouds are made of are too much small to acquire fall velocity, so the drag force of the air dominates over the gravitational force for the droplets and hence, the clouds continue to float with the surrounding air.
