Question

Raunak took 5 moles of carbon atom in a container and Krish also took 5 moles of sodium atom in another container of same weight.

(i) Which container is heavier.(ii) Whose container has more no. of atoms.

Solution

Dear student!
1.) 1 mole of carbon atoms = 12 gm
So, 5 moles of C-atoms = 12x 5 = 60 gm
Similarly,
1 mole of Na-atoms = 23 gm
5 moles of Na-atoms = 23 x 5 = 115 gm
So, Krrish's container with sodium atoms is heavier.
2). Since, 1 mole = Avogadro no. of atoms(for monoatomic elements)
And, both C and Na are found monoatomic so, no. of moles will be equal in each container.
